Sorry for the recent absence. It seems my posts have been coming in in dribs and drabs, and i do regret not commenting back all of you, so i'll try to do my best today to reply, and to add all of you i said i'd link exchange with. (Please do alert me if i need to add you, or if you would like to, as i'll be leaving in a few days)

Anyways, its the summer holidays for education in England at the moment, and to be honest i think i'm busier than when im at school. For one, i've been bundled with coursework that needs to all be finished (seriously, you'd think 6 weeks was enough to get it all done...) along with my sibling babysitting and house clearance duties (mother seems to think holidays are an excuse to treat us like slaves). But happily, the end of this week will hopefully be a break from all this labour. Tomorrow im going into London to look at Tim Walkers photography exhibition, and then to do my mums 'Lotte Berk' exercise class. Friday, im going to a watersports center, then on saturday, i'm spending two weeks lapping up the sun and surf in the south of france.

To round things up for the next two weeks, i'm catching up on the tags/awards ect. that i've missed out on doing.

I know that alot of you probably have a ritual or regime that comes into play whilst shopping. for example, my mum likes to start off with a skinny latte, and i know an awful lot of my friends who have an order as to which shops they visit, or as to which floor/section of the shop they look at first. My personal shopping trait is to visit the magazine section of borders before boarding my train/bus.

At the very back of the store (behind the manga/anime books) is the most wonderful magazine selection you will possibly ever come across. Borders is the only place in which you can find magazines from all over the world, whether they are independant or not. Each month they introduce a diffrent magazine, and alternate a few of the lesser selling ones each time. It is here i have come across some of my favourite magazines, such as the gigantic 'Paper' magazine, aswell as other more known magazines such as I-D and Dazed and Confused, and a selection of american magazines such as teenVogue and Nylon. The latest offering is 'Zoo Magazine' of whoms cover features the model Irina Lazareanu (why is she so badly recieved by bloggers? I find her ghostly bone structure quite enchanting...) and the musician Sean Lennon.

This editorial is one of the best i've seen in a while, and the accompanying article is a good read too...

*NOTE* however great the magazine is... how unfortunate it is to have to share a name with a lads mag...

Agh. I was on my morning run through my village, and a bleeding wasp stung me. At the point in my run where im furthest away from home. I wasn't at all impressed, as running and insect bites are high on my least-favourite-thing-to-experiance list.

Anyway, I have had an allergic reaction which has caused my arm to swell up. Which isn't pretty, nor pain-free. So todays post is unfortunately just a quick one.

I have always been neither-here-nor-there on my opinion of british favourite store, Primark. Since their opening in Oxford street in early 2007, it seems everyone has fallen head over heels for the cheap prices. To me, primark is the epiphany of chav-iness. The nearest Primark to me is in Stevenage, possibly being the roughest area of the entire east side of the UK, having a regular supply of girls dressed head-to-toe in burberry checks, and high, tight, tight ponytails. All of which you will find in Primark, picking out the most hideous things possible. The other major reason is the poor quality, surely its better to fork out on something that will last forever than lots of things that will last a week each?

Dont get me wrong, i am a sucker for the cheap-ness, and the nice designs, and how everything you could possibly want is right there for you in one double-decker store. But its just the little things that make it so offputting. The way everything seems to break/rip/tear, how whatever you want is only ever in a size 16+, and how everything sells out so fast. Also, with all the hype around the slave labour thing, Primark has recieved alot of bad press of late. But now the overseas slavery has been fired (infamously...), and it seemed the spell of terrible publicity was over.
But still, Primark comes up trumps. How is it that the cheapest store in the universe (bar Poundland) can come up with identical copies of every designer possible, and regular, ordinary priced shops cannot? I think Primark may be worth a visit...

I have fond memories of raiding my grandmothers wardrobe as a child, having been a fan of 'dressing up', with a specific desire for jewellery. I would pile it on, whether it be silver, gold, pearls, or simple rings, and i would love it. Since then, i have continued on my magpie-esque love of jewellery, and now i admit, i am obsessed. 60% of what i buy is jewellery, often from small boutiques near my aunt's house. However, now i fear my love for jewels has spiralled out of control.

I went shopping yesterday. It would have been a nice day, (sunny, bought some good sunglasses, didn't fall for anything ridiculously expensive...,) but i ended up seeing half of my school there, and of course it was the summer sales. Admittedly im a bit of a sale-o-phobic, and whenever i see a sale sign adorned to a shop window, the inner Mary Queen Of Shops takes over and i'm onto the next shop as quick as you can say "50% off". I like my shops to be tidied, and set out so i can see nice things from afar. So it didnt go so well. However, i did find this lovely nautical top and necklace, which i am wearing today.

I've always thought as Art as a form of fashion. Throughout my education, fashion design has been catagorised under the subject art, and i have continued to study it this way. However, over at TIME magazine they have an article against my view, and has made me rather optimistic about the whole prospect of the fashion/art debate. Jeff Chu says:

"while fashion may be artsy, artistic, artful, enjoying an art-infused moment and even (gasp!) influential in certain art circles, it's not art."

But surely if fashion is so thouroughly linked to the arta, shouldn't it be a form in its own right?

Ingrid Sisley, creator of the Florence Biennale show 1996, states "The conventional wisdom was that fashion was the enemy of art." Which is an odd concept seeing as art has played such a major role in many of the major designers collections for S/S '08.

This season more than ever, the art and fashion world has started to merge together like never before. Summer stated the return of the print, whether it be stars at chanel, Florals at Luella or the-soon-to-become-iconic balenciaga print. Im sure not many people will argue with the artistic aspects of Prada's S/S '08 collection, following up from the online inspiration video, Trembled Blossoms. The charming pixie print was created by artist James Jean, who also has worked in the art industry (specialising in captivating paintings of mythical/fairy-like charachters) since 1999.

(picture sources jamesdean.com) Another collection that has formed a solid link with the art world is Viktor + Rolf, whom's fashion designs are more a work of art than something you could bung on to go to the corner shop. Recently the fashion duo have opened an exhibition at an art gallery (barbrican)to showcase some of their more influential peices. A good point is that fashion is often included in art galleries, and are some of the most popular exhibitions are those which link to the world of fashion, and I know i love my visits to the V&A's Fashion Through The Ages gallery, in which they have fascinating talks and lectures about the history of fashion, aswell as the links to art.

A final word is that i do believe that fashion is very similar to art. I see fashion as very visual (well, who would shop with their eyes closed?), and i also apply this to art. They are both subjects I very much enjoy, and i hope one day the art world will recognise fashion for the wonderful art form it should be classified as.

As of late, the most important event in the fashion world is The Sex And The City Movie. Last week, [after the premiere] there were FOUR newspapers with a picture of SJP on the cover, and i haven't seen many blogs that haven't posted about it yet. This is all great, and i'm not saying that i won't be one of the many queuing to see the film, but unfortunately, this is distracting attention away from what is called the 'Resort Collection'.

As soon as the link for the 'Resort Line' popped up inside a Style.com email, i was confused. I am relatively new to the world of fashion beyond shopping, and so had to resort to Vogue + *gasp* Wikipedia to help me define the third fashion season. It turns out, besides the Spring/Summer and the Autumn/Winter, there is a reasonably new semi-season, a 'cruise' or a 'resort' collection, and the more wearable sibling of the fashion seasons. The concept of the whole idea is a fashion line thats summery, will last throughout autumn and summer, and essentially, holiday-ready.

CHRISTIAN DIOR.

Dior is certainly the most elegant of the resort collections. Christian clearly took his inspiration from the sixties, and has incorporated it into the cruise-wear in a way that's very 5-star-hotel-in-Paris. Throughout the show, it was clear that Dior wanted to cater for all the Holiday-maker's needs. There was Day, Beach, Night and Formal wear, to make sure Dior is the full package. The collection is literally bursting with gorgeous colours, particularly Orange, Mustard, Fushia and Deep Purples. Paisley seems to be on its rebound [oh joy...] aswell as vertical stripes, bows and heavy, heavy jewellery.

VERDICT: 6/10. Classy, and fantastic colouring, although many of the formal dresses were too snow-bunny-ish and the prospect of Paisley has put me off...

Chanel.

What does amazing clothing, surreal scenery and hot male models create? A very, very jealous blogger. I totally agree with Laird Borrelli-Persson from Style.com observation of Karl's own style influencing the beginning of the collection, with his trademark black tie + shirts. Other influences was Coco Chanel's cream and black, and of course her tailoring and elegance. The whole collection was very rock and roll meets masculinity, elegance or tribal wear. It also played homage to the S/S 08 collection with Americana, featuring wide legged denim and pearls. As an extra, the collection featured possibly the NICEST chanel bag EVER, which not doubt will have its own post soon.

VERDICT: 9/10. Loved it. Loved it all.

I think what i liked about this was how it was so simple, it was extreme. It certainly isn't a groundbreaking collection, nor chanel-esque scenery, but the simplicity of the two combine to create a resort line of Gap-meets-seventies/sailor. I did adore the gorgeous long waves and simple makeup as seen on the models though. Its all neutrals, and in classic shapes, but oddly, is what i know i'd wear if i were rich enough to 'cruise'.

Verdict: 8/10. Liked the simplicity, loved the hair.

I don't mean to yet again bore you with my excuses, but i am back for this week. Next week i will be on holiday, and so unable to post, but after that, and know my exams are over [oh the joy...], i should be back to normal.

The subject of this post comes from my trips to facehunter. Usually, this street-style sanctuary gives me inspiration and style ideas. But alas, today was diffrent.

Upon log on, i found LEGGINGS. Leggings are simply the worst fashion statment in the world. [Besides Crocs and Uggs]. So i've decided. Now is the time to stand. All for the ban of leggings say i?

They said i couldn't do it. They said it would be impossible to turn my rugby-mad brother into a fashionista. And now hes referencing to America's Next Top Model. Im a genius, i really am.

Today in the unpredictable land that is England, it has been 25 degrees. Here i am, sitting in my shorts as taken by my twelve year old brother. That's family for you!

4. I listen to 'chav' music. Even though i am the farthest thing from gangster.
5. I smile pretty much all of the time. I've been told off for it on many occasions, been told i remind a friend of a '4-year-old' and asked if i've ever been miserable in my life.

Okay, so this is going to be a bit of a 'pickle' post. [Its basically adding together a couple of my posts with my new camera and creating what i hope will be a reasonably good read.] I am sorry that i've been providing pretty crap posts this last week, but my computer/coursework issue is all sorted, and from now on its back to regular Fashionyou.

Firstly, i would like to mention that i now have my camera. I was pretty pleased i could get one for so cheap, even though it isn't as good quality as my last one. Its by Samsung and it was £69.99, which isn't at all bad.

Anyway, moving onto the actual post.. This weekend, after purchasing my camera i had plenty of time to browse the shops [3 hours to be exact] which meant i had the opportunity to check out some of the high street items I've posted about in the last couple of weeks. If you think back to my post about jumpsuits [the one asking for your advice on a certain Gap ensemble?] Alot of you told me to get it, and probably more were not so enthusiastic. So, i went to check it out, and was vaguely pleased...

I always find it nice how everything is laid out in nice 'colour zones' in Gap so you can find everything you need.. but its equally annoying that the sizes are so strange. Think you're a size 8? In Gap you are at least a 4. The jumpsuit turned out to be a bit baggy and as many of you said, did make me look like i was 4 years old. I didn't buy it, despite the staffs persistence [and surprisingly good looks...]. But i think i may check back to see if they have any smaller sizes.

You may also remember the Marimekko post? If you do, then you'll remember how optimistic i was about the range? I liked the colours, but not all of the shapes & cuts etc...?

Unfortunately most of it was gone, but i did manage to try on this short/t-shirt outfit. As Coco said, unfortunatelty it was very poor fabric, so much so i couldn't imagine it holding together for long... But hey, it did make me feel summery, although its probably not what i'd spend my money on...

I guess i shoudn't really be taking photos in changing rooms, but i was too excited to get my camera out...

What does a recently broken computer + 6 essays to re-type equal? Very, very tired fingers. So im afraid dear bloggers that this is a quick one. More of a you-answer-me than a-me-talking-to-you post. For todays post, im thinking back to the post about Miss Amy Winehouse i did a month back,as she became the muse for Karl Lagerfeld @ Chanel. Since then, i have been thinking more into the who-is-who of celeb/stylist muses, and have compiled the finest.

DUFFY FOR DOLCE & GABBANA

Everyone knows Duffy is an amazing singer, but what you may not know is that she has also has amazing style, and is the new muse of D&G. Apparently she wowed the fashion gods at a concert and has been asked to take over the role from Madonna *scoff scoff*

KATIE SHILLINGFORD FOR GARETH PUGH If you had never heard of her before, dont worry, i hadn't either. Turns out she's the ex-editor of Dazed And Confused, and also stylist to Gareth Pugh's catwalks. He's worked with her for four years and 'couldn't think of anyone else but Katie' to be his muse. All i know is that she had one hell of a haircut, and that there isn't many pictures of her on the internet.

For anyone who has read my blog recently, [or for that matter just stumbled upon it] you will have pretty much gathered that i am not a big fan of designer/celebrity collaborations. I believe that the designers should stick to the high end, and the high street, well, to the high street!So when i read about print-based label Marimekko's collision with high street giant [and personal favourite] shop h&m, i couldn't help but to be optimistic. And later, when an opening email from the shop itself landed in my inbox, i was pleasantly suprised by the delightful illustrations created for the line.

But, later when i had purchased my monthly style bible, Vogue, i read the mini mag [did anyone catch it? i do love my mini-mags] which was in association with h&m and was presented with images from the new collaboration. I was startled by the intensity of the prints clashed together with the heavy jewels and a menagerie of paint-like makeup. It was all very unusual and 'editorial' and seemed rather dissapointing [even though the pictures were striking, and beautiful.], and looked unwearable. [Sorry for the bad quality- yet again scanners' acting up.]

However, after checking the website for more details, i can ensure you that the collaboration is not as bad as i have described it. The pretty smock dresses and tunic tops are all very 60's and overall, very pleasing. I would certainly wear some of the items, which consist of the prints "Keidas (art nouveau swirl), Linssi (diagonal swirl), Petrooli (red rimmed red spot) and Jonas, (a black spider-like swirl)".

My favourite peice is probably the shift dresses which [if you look on the website] come in a variety of gorgeous prints from Marimekko. Its altogether a nice line, daring, yet simple for everyday wear.

Note: Agh. Why am i making this remark? Because my computer crashed with a virus last week so I haven't been able to post. Also, all my coursework was lost except the few peices i had saved at school. I am NOT a happy bunny. Im guessing this post is a little late [try a week late] but i am sorry, and i promise i will return to regular posting.

Agh. The shop that were 'fixing' my camera have declared that it cannot be fixed. So now i have the task of saving for a new one. So hopefully i will have a camera soon.

But from one person-behind-the-camera to another, i present you my second fashion mini-biography on the topic of: legendary photograper Patrick Demarchelier.

Info bit:

The french photographer was born in 1994 and since then has become a major name in the photography industry. He has shot dozens of editorials for American, British and Paris Vogue. He has also shot covers for Rolling Stone, Glamour, and Elle. Also, he has shot campaigns for Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein. He was also mentioned in Devil Wears Prada [hence the title...].

Recently, he shot 'the sheltering sky' for British Vogue with model Jessica Stam, showcasing this seasons prettiest fashions.

Im sorry this is a bit hurried, but i have the dreaded return to school tomorrow, so i'm very busy [but i hope these gorgeous pictures make up for it!] Thankyou all for your lovely comments, and i'll reply as soon as i can!

Just one week ago in England, it was snowing. This could seem a suprise to anyone that hasn't visited the land of unpredictable weather before, but to a local, this could seem quite normal.

The fact is, only a week later its flipping boiling! [Well, its 17 degrees, but thats scorching for easter] The birds are singing, the grass is green, and the sea blue sky is scattered with puffy white clouds. Which is all very well, but with no time to prepare outfits for the sudden dawning of summer, its left me quite bemused. And so, it's got me thinking of a new summer wardrobe [if only i had the money...] and therefore my summer footwear of choice, the sandal. Never before have i worn a sndal, as i tend to prefer a pretty ballerina pump, or a simple flip-flop. But no, the time has come, and logging onto ASOS, i've come over all inspired. For inside this beacon of online fashion, is a pair [and more] of sandals for every occasion...

Im definately buying the lace up work/office pair.

There are parts of fashion that everyone hates. My Dad hates wedge heels and anything baggy or 'vintage'. My Mum hates anything made out of PVC. My 5 year old sister detests wearing the colour green. And My Brother doesn't know the foggiest about fashion, so we just won't go there.

As for me? I hate[d] jumpsuits.

Why i hear you ask? That's a good question. The jumpsuit has been a part of my life for as long as i can remember. For the first couple of years of my life i wore them. My uncle, and close family friend [who are both builders] wore them, and still do to this day. Perhaps it was a jumpsuit overload that has triggered my hatred for the one piece suit, or perhaps it was the imaginable difficulty of taking them off/ putting them back on for toilet trips.

I don't know what it was, but what i do know is that i feel i am being converted. To anyone that read yesterdays post, you'll see i evaluated danish brand eluise which featured not one, but two jumpsuits. And whats more- i loved them. They're slouchy, look comfortable and come in a variety of shapes, sizes and colours.

And with all the hype around them for S/S, i feel that perhaps i am ready to embrace this trend. [Which i am annoyed about because i was so adamant i hated them!] So you can imagine my supreme excitement when i saw that GAP UK has produced a jumpsuit similar to the one i mentioned in a previous post from Stella McCartney- and for £510.50 less!:

So what do you guys think? Should i buy it? It is growing on me... and at £39.50 its cheap.. enough..?

Technically, I'm an eighth danish. [My grandad's mum is danish] But i spend most of my holidays there so that must count for something right?

Well, I'd love to be because every time i visit Denmark [in particular Copenhagen], the cities are literally packed with well dressed ladies, all clad in high end fashion. I think with all of the hype based around Paris/Milan/London/New York, other style meccas go unnoticed, and Denmark would definitely qualify.

So, you can imagine my excitement i came across danish brand ELUISE. Not just because its a danish brand, but also because it's got that simple, yet baggy style that i dearly love. According to the S/S 08 text the line is:

"it's inspired by travel, movement and time. the silhouettes and drapings are influenced by designer louise stubkjear's ability to work in a simple way with the natural shapes of the material combined with a classical expression"

And even though i can't really see the link between time, it is clear that the draping silhouettes of the white jumpsuit, and the playful beach romper are definitely reminiscent of the 1980's [and earlier's] jetsetters.

When i take on of my 40 yearly trips to denmark, i will try to visit the store and post some pictures up. [i MAY be going to the end of April, but these trips can be very unpredictable!]

As i've said before [1stb'daypost] i never really pay attention to the beautiful catwalk people. [However, according to many designers, models are not meant to make any expression at all in thier faces so that people notice the clothes not them. (Unless your Stella M. and have the great revelation to let models smile.) So maybe i'm just playing into the designer's hands] Although, even if i did notice faces, im hopeless with names so i probably wouldnt remember any, especially not long exotic names that most seem to have these days. But, as my fashion knowledge is growing [slowly...] i decided to provide you [and me] with a model referance of a few new faces of the fashion world and some pictures and other bits i can find out about them.

Masha has been dubbed 'the alien beauty' with her enourmous eyes [which make her come across with a mixture of scared/shocked expression at times] However, she is an alternate beauty and someone i'm sure even I would be unlikely to forget.

She's been featured in Italy Vogue along with Agyness Deyn, and has been seen on the catwalk for Prada, Alexander McQueen, Louis Vuitton, Nina Ricci, DKNY, Vera Wang, Jil Sander, Chloé, and Marc by Marc Jacobs. Out of all the models i've reviewed- she's the main lady to watch.

Toni signed with woman managment in 2007, and later signed to the prestigious STORM agency. She has been featured in numerous ads and editorials, such as ELLE & ELLE italy, Glamour, French Vogue, and CK.

Her big break into the modelling world is when Calvin Klein exclusivley booked her for the opening and finishing act of his 2008 show, which is a HUGE deal as supermodels Moss & Vodianova both became 'super' following being a CK exclusive. Big things must follow, and i'm going to be watching.

Newcoming models are suprisingly hard to find, but i'll keep searching, and if i find any more i'll let you know.

Mum: 'you'll never guess who just walked into Reiss [clothes store, Cambridge]. AMY WINEHOUSE!'

Im not much of a celebrity fan. I suppose its because I've never come into contact with many before. But when i walked into Reiss to see a petite beehive clad Amy Winehouse, i'll admit i was thrilled. She was wearing a tight pair of skinny jeans and high top trainers and was accompanied by a bodyguard. This was before her whole drug-use trauma, and seemed perfectly happy browsing the rails.

Peronally, i've never really liked her style that much. Her baggy jeans, trainers and tattoos are all a bit manly for my liking. I'll admit she does have talent and i am very pleased she is back from rehab and is on the mend. But really, shes not my cup of tea style-wise.

However, she has been influenced and been linked to the fashion world very strongly this season. She is known as Karl LAgerfeld's muse and inspired many catwalk beauty looks with her winged eyes and bouffant hair. She performed at Fendi's store opening and at many of the major music events.

And when Paris Vogue did a fashion spread inspired by her in the Febuary issue, i'm going to have to bite the bullet and admit that i loved it. The model [Isabelli Fontana] captured Amy's often bizzare behaviour well, and the shoot really reflects her personality and dress sense.

Is it strange that i find paper advertising booklets more exciting than internet based ones?

Perhaps it is, but when a magazine for fashion label COS arrived with my monthly edition of British Vogue, i had to read it before even opening the main magazine. [Believe me, thats a big deal.]

And once opened, i was impressed. COS is a label of women's and menswear which specialises in basic designs with sharp tailoring with low prices. [which i personally think is never a bad thing] The booklet wasn't all advertising, with pages of inspiration, from places to people that were both amusing and intresting to read. There were pages of basic black and white shots of the simple clothing shot by Willy Vanderperre, which was refreshing compared to the complicated campaigns of the major fashion houses. Then came a prettier line called 'Remix' that featured a more complicated range of designs, showing basic black and jewel colouring teemed with graphic lines.

Yes, it's only been a day since i last posted, but when i've got the blogging spirit, i kind of have to post. So, here i am again with what i hope is going to be an interesting post. :)

I've always been fascinated by Anna Piaggi ever since reading about her in my personal fashion bible 'The Cheap Date's Guide to Style'. And when i saw this picture on the Satorialist I felt the need to find out more. So here it is, the first ever Fashion Biography to ever grace the posts of Fashionyou.

Anna Piaggi is an international writer and stylist, and her articles have been shown on the pages of Italian Vogue in which she has been the creative consultant since 1988, and Vanity Fair. However, she is more often recognised for her eccentric taste in stile and always unique hair and makeup. According to the V&A she has an amazing 2865 dresses. She has been associated with Manalo Blahnik, Karl Lagerfeld and Stephen Jones.

And here are a few questions asked to her by The Telegraph in 2006:

Who are your favourite designers of the moment? I like Dolce & Gabbana and Rifat Ozbek. Also John Galliano, because he's a designer whose clothes create their own mood. I've recently rediscovered Chanel, who I used to wear years ago. I particularly like the collections they make for Japan, full of such stunning patterns and colours. I've also rediscovered Missoni, the clothes are made with such craft. And I like the modernism and discipline of Prada.

What have been your biggest fashion indulgences? Hats (by either Philip Treacy or Stephen Jones), gloves (from Missoni Men, with cutout fingers - I wear them while I'm working and with matching nail varnish) and walking canes (from Madeleine Gély, 218 blvd St Germain, Paris).

Its not often that a designer makes me want to crawl back into my school uniform after a relaxing weekend.

*Note to americans/canadians: Over here in the extremely cold relm of england we are forced to wear a discusting uniform*

But, lo and behold the s/s 08 collection from the amazing Karl Lagerfeld has given me school-fever. The big, big bow ties and the man blazer with pleated skirts teamed with black flat brouges is simply stunning. The collection had a hard edge to it but it worked with the relaxed hair and smoky eyes.

Is this not one of the first time FLATS have been featured on the catwalk?

And here is me and my friends three years ago [we dont often take pictures at school] in our delightful uniform.

We look extra-nice with our blue faces non?

Well, what a lovely surprise to come back to my blog with 31 comments! I believe that is my record for 3 days? :) Mum is back from la paris, empty handed on the gifts-for-molly front, but then bought me the floral skirt i wanted from Zara! Also whilst staying at my friends we went to see Juno. I've heard from other bloggers/critics/general people that its amazing- i personally didnt think it was THAT good, but i guess thats just down to my rubbish taste in films and music. Thanks everyone for the comments on my fashion democracy post, this is the deciding bit where i post examples and link up all the teams ect. ect. I think this IS going to become a regular [once a fornight or something] as it has worked quite well! Let me know what you think. Heres the teams: Team A: Big Bags. This week i got an A in my english 'persuading people' essay which i was very suprised about as although i may love having things my way [you could say i'm a bit of a control freak :)] im not ACTUALLY that good at persuasion. So, using my new [ahem] talent for persuading people one way or another i'm setting up a new regular on the blog called:

'FASHION DEMOCRACY'

That i hope all you bloggers are going to enjoy reading. Its kinda inspired by VogueUK's article on the clumpy or stilleto heel in March's issue.

The Shining Lights Of London

Perhaps its the fact that im so ridicuously small towned that taking me to london is like placing a kid in a sweet shop. Or maybe its just cos i love the place.

On Friday, my mum and I went on a trip to London. It was very busy, partly because it was the last day of London Fashion Week, but i didn't mind too much because the whole city was crammed to the brim of fabuously dressed people.

[How cute are these girls? But they must have been cold- I was in three jumpers and a coat when i went into London! Pictures: Facehunter]

I had half hoped to join these people, however failing to book tickets to the shows only ended in me pleading with the ticket man outside the barriers. Ah well, theres always next year.

So, feeling a little dissapointed, i stumbled across the V&A museum. I've been a couple of times to see the Kylie Exhibition with my friends, but have never been there alone. The couture exhibition i had heard about had recently closed, so i took the time to go to the fashion through the ages exhibition. It wasn't quite the London fashion week experiance i had been expecting to spend my day doing, but it was rather intresting. Anyways, i had to sketch some pictures for my Fashion Illustration project, so i took one of the collapsable stools [how handy are they?] and spend the day drawing.

Heres some of my work, please excuse the roughness of them [i didnt have a rubber] and the quality of the photos [my camera broke so i used my phone.]:

This is my first ever award :)

I don't think i've been this excited about an award since i was 10 and came second in a running race! Which may sound totally sad, but i really do put alot of time and effort into this blog, and it's always nice to get something back! To be honest i actually don't know. It's one of those things that just kind of popped into my head. You could write it in an equation:

Why did you started blogging in the first place?

Well.. i read about Stylebubble in TeenVogue aaaages ago and have always loved fashion, so i thought why not? So i signed up to blogger and hey presto, here we are!

What has been your best blogging experience? What about the worst?

I absolutely love finding ideas for posts.. and all the lovely people i've talked to. There hasnt really been any bad experiances to be honest, and i hope there never will!

What do you think will happen to your blog in 2008?

Prada. in a cartoon?

As soon as i saw that prada had made an 'animation' movie, i couldnt help but laugh. I mean a fashion label gone all geeky? Its called 'Trembled Blossoms' and was premiered in NY on Febuary the 6th in thier flagstore. Apparently it marks the 'culmination surrounding the creative process surrounding the spring/summer '08 collection.' It all sounded like a pile of bollocks to be honest. So, being the investigator i am, i went straight to www.prada.com to watch the film, and actually it wasnt as wierd as i expected. Sure, the whole prospect of a naked nymph being magically dressed in Prada clothing sounded 'unusual', but the graphics were good, and there were some beautiful scene images. Here are some of them, as stills from Prada website: 1. Naked Nymph bursts from floor. 2. Bugs magically turn into pretty prada shoes. This i admit, was pretty cool. 3. Beautiful scenery starts appearing.

4. Patterned ladies start dancing around and when the nymph comes into contact with one, she magically produces a gown. [from Prada of course]

5. What looked like an overgrown gargoyle goat thanked the Nymph for feeding its chinese-dragon-turned-tiny-fish part of her apple by giving her a prada bag.

[I would happily babysit his fish for him if thats how i get paid!!!]

Well, it all sounds wierd, but it beats some of the adverts i've seen for other fashion houses! Log onto www.prada.com to see it, and make sure you tell me what you think!

Fashion in art.. or Art in Fashion?

I've been intrested in art since i was about 5. Sure, then i was drawing more Cinderella-as-a-stick-man than Van Gough, but still, i found it exciting. Many years [and countless pictures] later, im majoring in art. Anyways, i've been asked to produce a peice of artwork for my examination on an artist or a style of art. So far i've got to this stage:

Which is basically nothing. I've been undecided on what art form to do until i came across a book at school called 'Illustrating Fashion'. Its not so much about designing the clothes or anything like that, its about the way you portray or 'advertise' the clothes to show what you think fashion is.

I cant decide what to call my project yet, it will either be:

Art in Fashion
Fashion in Art
Fashion Illustration

But if you have any other ideas let me know.

I also really like this artist:

Who calls herself 'Coco'. Her designs are really pretty and i will probably use her as my modern artist within my project.

So im in desperate need of anything to include in the project as i really need good grades for this one.

New York = Chic ROUND 2!

I made a promise to myself at the beginning of the year by posting on all things fashion. So you can imagine my suprise [and regret] when around 30 new catwalk pictures landed in my inbox. Dont get me wrong, i love my blog and i love the shows, but reviewing each one is becoming somewhat tedious. So, here is your very own part 2 of the New York Fashion Week guides. ERIN FETHERSON

I must say, i am a massive fan of Erins work, so when i heard she was showing a collection at NYFW, i was a bit excited. But this show was a bit too much of a jumble for me. They were gorgeous clothes, but i didn't see how the trends fitted together. The first looks were very floral, topped with black blazers, jackets and coats. Then came a dash of tartan and then silks, my favourite part, the funky bell shaped dressed, and then the finale of the white lord-of-the-ring-esque dresses. It was beautiful, but a little un-organised.

OVERALL APPEAL: 6/10. I was looking for the grown-up look from last season, but was a little dissapointing for me.

JONATHON SAUNDERS

To be honest, i don't know exactly how to classify this collection. Its what im going to call 'MutedFuturistic'. It showed a very sharp, bold cut and the return of the cape-coat. It also featured high necklines and below the knee hemlines, with a darker version of the designers favourite, florals. An odd collection, not exactly to my taste, but still nice to look at.

OVERALL APPEAL: 5/10. Not too sure what i make of this one.

DIANE VON FURSTENBURG

Now this i loved. DVF has gone down the road of what i like to call 'industrial'. Its all very WomanPower-ish, showing alot of pretty gowns/fabrics/prints underneath business like coats and thin tan belts. It was the whole boyish trick that designers do so well. A very pleasing collection.

OVERALL APPEAL: 8/10. Very pretty collection.

New York = Chic.

It seems like just yesterday it was autumn, and yet already we are embracing the new. Vogue.co.uk has just got in pictures from New York Fashion Week and being the fast-moving fashionista i am, [ or am trying to be :) ] have posted them and left comments on new trends ect., so that you're all fully prepped on the new season fashion. RACHEL ROY This whole collection was very pretty indeed. She showed alot of layering and ethnic-ness[?] in ivory which combined reminded me slightly of Pocahontas & the Native American Indians. She also showed alot of detail and textures, such as beautiful orange silks and feathered necklaces. My favourite looks were the cardies with the belts and the little feathered corsages. Overall appeal: 7/10. A nice collection, although not all of it would be wearable.

ELIE TAHARI

Stretching the tension between hard and delicate seems to be one thing designers really like to do, and Tahali's line was no exception. Her line which consisted of soft wools, furs, satins and velvet slouchy tailoring mixed with long leather gloves [yes, they're still in for '08!] and patent belts with black tights looked all very similar, yet still very appealing.

Overall Appeal: 8/10. This is a line of looks that i would wear myself thats young and cool!

BAND OF OUTSIDERS

This collection i actually LOVED. The whole geek-chic look was really appealing in the warm colours and the slouchy tailoring is a look that i will always like.

Overall appeal: 9/10. A great first impression on the designer.

The Chronicles of Bagdom.

I was tagged a while ago by the lovely Lauren of A Black Tie Event, and therefore i have been asked to list the contents of my bag. This however is not easy, as if i went on about every detail i would be here all night [well isn't that what big bags were invented for?]. So, here is the cut down version of whats in my bag. Enjoy!

Of the four bags i own, this is the one that i use the most. Its big, boxy and unusual and is big enough for even my art folders. I got it from Topshop ages ago but i still use it all the time.

Out of the whole of my bags, this is the stuff that i need the most. Its My school planner, Umbrella [for typically unpredictable English weather], Permanently empty David & Goliath Purse, Specs, Phone, Half broken Digicam, Woolly gloves, selection of pens and my cupcake diary. This is the stuff that i have to exchange from bag to bag, along with my keys which i forgot to put in the picture.

Less important but still useful things. My sketch book, reciepts, Post-its, vaseline, Trashy magazines, Loose change, a variety of lipglosses and balms, deoderant & Nail polish. The last thing is a belt which i always carry for those times when theres a really nice top/dress/coat and i wonder whether it would look better with a belt. I like this one cos its simple and goes with most things.

This final section features books from several of my bags, just to make me look extra-specialy intelligent. Firstly, Gossip Girl, Mints, Hairbrushes & bands, Pride & prejudice, pencils, make-up, ipod and some really nice books my nan bought me.

Ad's 08

Its been a while hasn't it? I'm sorry to have kept you waiting [yet again] but i have had quite alot of artwork to do for school [of which i got an A for!] and so haven't had alot of time to post.

I have found literally the most interesting ad campaign known to earth with probably the most interesting array of models i have EVER seen. Which is pretty cool seeing as i read about 4 magazines a day with like 1000000 ads in.

Its the new Spring/Summer Burberry Mario Testino shoot, which is gorgeous, as always. Different from the usual Burberry look of Black and White Kate or Gemma, this one is more fun and alot younger.

Here is the first, with who [i think] is who.

Definition: NFM -> Edie Campbell, my new favourite model. She was in the last set of Burberry campaigns and looked gorgeous with her long hair and braces. Also she was in Teenvogue a while ago and looked sooo cool.

Onto number 2, my favourite.

Maybe its the fact that the colours look so fresh in comparison to the old ads. Or maybe its the liveliness of the shoot where Testino made the models/actors/singers/golfers 'jump', in order to create an picture-in-motion shoot. These 'models' are said to be soon the hottest names in thier industries, who also, strangely all seem to have chiselled checkbones and model-esque bodies and faces.

To any fashionista with a brain, the idea of a documentary-movie following the life of designer/photographer Karl Lagerfeld would sound fantastic. Well, inside the world of the wonderful lies a whole story of how being creative director of Chanel and Fendi, and launching his own line, Lagerfield feels like. Its a birds-eye view on the world of the rich and famous, with many an actress participating in what will become a fashion epic. Personally i cant wait to see it, and if you inspire [as i know many bloggers will] to have a career in fashion, this will surely be of your liking. Also, you will be guaranteed to see lots of beautiful clothes/accessories throughout, which can never be bad.

Definitely one to watch, but not one to take the boyfriend to see!!

Rocks?! Bit of an understatement.

Last night was one of my favourite nights of the year. Yes my dears, it was Swarovski Fashion Rocks for the Princes Trust, and as always, it didn't disappoint. Its a charity event where all the fashion houses collided with all the biggest names in fashion to provide a concert/catwalk for all the best celebrities to spectate. Its just a bit of fun really, and if you missed it, here are my notes on the night: 1. Quickly goes into action with Iggy Pop ironically partnered with Versace. Beautiful, flowing gowns to hardcore rockin'. Also great fun seeing Kate Moss headbanging and Gwyneth paltrow blocking her ears. 2. Then onto good ol' Lily Allen, [who looked very slim and gorgeous] with Chanel, her design fave. Lots of sparkles and futuristic cuts throughout. 3. Next, we saw a smoking-on-stage Johnny with Razorlight, teemed with Christopher bailey for Burberry, and saw leather, high gloss shoes and cuffs, and chunky knits, one of winters biggest trends. 4. Then, one of THE best singers, Roisin Murphy with Gucci, mostly flowing black peices with gold detailing. 5. Then YSL, and Mark Almond, one of the best collections, but was annoyingly hidden by Mark, and the violinists. 6. D. Shirley Bassey with Marchesa. A lovely romantic collection with gold, ruffles and feathers. 7. Next, to Armani with the beautiful Alicia Keys, who's key peices included the plunging corset and masculine suits, all in black and fuschia. 8. Then to THE BEST designer, and show of the night, Stella McCartney [No surprises there!!] and Shy Child. The models showed of the casual fuschia and black collection by playing musical chairs, [very entertaining!] lets just say, it was nice to see models smiling and acting as if they are indeed human. 9. [A barefoot] Joss Stone with the lovely Calvin Klien, showing simple lines, full skirts and cool prints and colours like mint and bright orange. 10. Timbaland & D&G with beyonce's best trend- padlocked shiny belts and full length shiny, sparkly dresses. Also showed a few ruffle-trim dresses which where nice. 11. Christopher Kane & Gossip [who i swear has gained weight?!] showed autumnal colours and thick tights, also lots of glitter and sequins. 12. Lastly, Nicole [PCD!] and Valentino, with lots of fluffy feathered peices and loose flowy, bright dresses with details. As a retiring present, Fashion rocks gave him a BIG diamond[?!] on stage as a goodbye. [Not that he needs it, im sure that hes earnt a good enough living to afford several big diamonds.] Then, as a finally, it was the Sugababes with 'Lady Marmalade' which was entertaining, especially when they got the sprinklers out =) Well.. im sorry there are no pictures, but as soon as i get them, i will post them up! Aah, we meet again. And hasnt it been a long time? Now rather than boring you half to death with my long paragraph about how i WILL update my blog more often, i have an excuse. Yes, the title is vague, but i have pretty much given up on titles, as they never turn out to fit the article. Anyways, sorry for never updating [even though i always say i will] and I'm happy to be back. Thanks for all the comments people left me over summer, if i haven't already replied, sorry, i will get on it soon! Welcome to the new year of school! I bet your all enjoying it as much as i am.

Straight to the point, I'm in love. And this is a deeper, more intimate love than that of any boy [even westworth miller!] Its shoe love. And to any girl who has ever experienced shoe love, it can be painful. For as soon as i see that shoe, i know that as much as i save, they will never be mine. [another painful love: expensive things]! That's why i HATE Alexander McQueen. I really do. Actually no, i love him, but i hate his way of designing. Wrong again, i love his way of designing, but what i REALLY mean is I hate the way his shoes are so good, and yet so expensive. I know, I know, i have wrote about this many times before, but seriously HOW GOOD ARE THEY!? Probably the best in the business. I would marry Alexander McQueen just to get a lifetime supply of his shoes. Anyways, back to the point AGAIN. There i was, getting inspiration for this article on Vogue.com, and watched a couple of shows online, and yet again i stumbled across Mr McQueen. And there they were. Possibly the greatest shoes in the world. Here they are:

And even though i knew they were WAY out of my league, i checked his website to see the price. Unfortunately, the shoes were not there, but there were sevral substitutes to take thier place. Which is even more anoying as now i have something like triple triple shoe love.

News Topic 1: Holidays. Over the pond here in England, it barely feels like Autumn as we havent had more than 5 minuites of sunshine. So its only natural i am extremely excited. I am going on 3 holidays, one to newforest, one to france (2 weeks! YESS!) and another to a sports camp. I will need new stuff for this, so here is my capsual wardrobe for each.

Being alone and bored, i decided to rent out 'Step Up'. My friends have all seen it and told me to watch it, so thats what I did! It was quite good, the story of a gangster-on-comunity-service and a general-posh-totty-dancer trying to make the most of a dance rehearsel. But the thing that hit me the most was how good the leading lady (Jenna Dewen) looked. Yeah, her style was kinda hip-hop, and leggings are kinda getting old but hey, i loved it!! haha! The new craze of the blogging crowd. Quite addictive I must say, and a good excuse for quickly typing up a post instead of doing my in-tomorrow maths paper. Aah, lifes good.

In celebrations of mka's 21st birthday, i have decided to pay tribute by dedicating a whole post to the fashion of the twin. It doesn't seem long ago from when they were young, sweet and in "so little time." But now, as young adults, they get more stylish by the second, and *sobs* not little girls anymore.

1.CROCS!

These are the most disgusting shoes i have ever seen. Plastic clogs? Ugh. Plastic pumps? Ugh.

Some people love them, but in my opinion they are horrible!

2. PVC!

WHY?!? These just look like stripper heels.

Hot Summer Wardrobe!!

Im back!! Had a lovely holiday, thanks for all your lovely messages- very much appreciated! Hope you all like the new layout.. thought it was in need of a change!! Well, as you all know its summer, and soon it will be vacation time! So i have put together a perfect summer wardrobe, for all budgets. All clothes are from TopShop, and all under £50 an item!! 1. A good pair of Jeans. I reccomend a white/grey skinny jean, as they are very versatile and look more up to date.

2. Then invest in some good quality vest tops. These ones are good, come in alot of colours, the right length, and there is a great 2 for £9 offer on them!.

(£6 or 2 for £9)

3.Some great lightweight bottoms. I suggest a skirt and shorts as they are good staples and the shorts can be easily recreated by cutting up old jeans! And dont you love this skirt? Ra-ra skirts are so cool, and this one has something ballerina-ish about it, and i just love it (wear with care though- strictly black/white camisole on top!)!

4. Some prettier tops!

5. Some great shoes! I recomend one pair of flat sandals, and one pair of high heels. Everyone is going mad over gladiator sandals, and do like them, but be careful with them or you'll risk looking too manly! Firstly, with the with the fashion fringe semi-finalists announced on Monday (a comp to win a face off catwalk in LDN fashion week 08), i just can't even start to say how high the level of competition was. Seriously, the sketches were stunning. The semi's are:

Well, changing the subject completely, i have found THE most gorgeous sunglasses ever. Seriously, i would kill for a pair of these babies.

These are SO cool. They remind me of the barbie sunnies i used to wear when i was little- im not sure if thats a good thing or not, but whatever. A girl can never have too much pink! ROGER VIVIER $445 Im not sure i would wear these- but i like the concept. Leather coated sunglasses (fake i hope!) with cool green stripes. You have to be brave to wear these, but hey, its nice to push the boat out once in a while! MOSS LIPOW $$$ Love.

=I am about to make a statement that may make me very unpopular. I LOVE LINDSAY! People always slate her and are always putting her down but i really like her. Shes young, and wants to have fun and should be allowed to do so. Yes, she makes mistakes but everyone does. And shes had a hard time at home. But what i really love about her is her style. She has that whole disheveled chic look going on that i find really cool. Her quirky attitude is perfectly matched to her rocky tees, and over-sized bags and shades. She accessorises fantastically, having armfuls of bangles and uber cute shoes. And since shes put on weight since her anorexia scare, she looks great. Here are my fave outfits from Lindsay Lohan. HEADLINE 1: I am ill, and its summer.

Yes, that's right. I'm ill and it is summer. Just halfway through a perfectly normal week, out comes the old flu/cold virus. In summer. How on earth can you catch a cold IN 18 DEGREES!? That's what i want to know. I'm in bed feeling all sniffly while everyone is outside. Life's a cow.

HEADLINE 2: anya hindmarch bag not eco-friendly?

ok, so this is what i read in the paper today so it must true but apparently the so-called Anna bags are not eco friendly. According to the DAILY MAIL, the bag was made by cheap chinese labour. Sounds awfully dull, but still rather shocking.

HEADLINE 3: BOOHOO.COM.. my new fave website.

How cool are these? And for under £10 each, i think they are worth getting. I got this lovely link off LOOK magazine, and having checked it out there are loads of great purchases to be ordered off this cool Internet store. I loved the way there was loads of rock inspired pieces, as i am a self confessed rock chick. :)

They remind me of lindsay lohan too, which can never be a bad thing.

HEADLINE 4: Alexander Mcqueen catwalk spring/summer 07 review.

i do love Alexander's shows, and this was not one to disappoint. It was a beautiful show, and the models paraded down the catwalk under a huge crystal chandelier to live opera music, with a real vintage/classical feel to it. The clothes, although not exactly my taste, were effortlessly sexy without being in the least bit slutty, and had some amazing volumuous ruffle dresses. The models were all styled wonderfully, with ghostly make-up and spider webbed hair, along with huge floral hats and hair pieces. Although, my favourite pieces have to be the shoes. They were just so unique, but yet simply designed. Interesting, but classically shaped. You get the picture. But what amazed me is that they made clear plastic (a big trend that i hate) look good. They accessorise the same shoe lots of times to make it completely different, and all looked gorgeous. I also loved the court shoes, as they were just a classic shape, but with a higher toe so they look more quirky.

Ok, so is it just me or does every celebrity under the sun seem to be bringing out thier own range of clothing? Examples: -New Lily Loves for new look range [pictured] -Kate Moss for topshop -Kelly Brook swimwear for New look -Kylie swimwear for H & M -Maddona for H & M -Lily Cole 'bag' for Accesorize -Olsen twins range for.. erm an american brand?! -George Clooney for Primark. Okay maybe not but you never know how things will turn out!! Personally, i think its ridiculous how one persons name gets planted on a bunch of clothes and suddenly they are more desirable. There are plenty of amazing designers that could make nicer stuff. Although i do think that Kate Moss range is genious. She has amazing taste, and it will earn topshop a fair amount. But Lily Allen? Come on guys! Shes only been famous for like a nano second, and to be honest she looks like a bit of a chav the last few times i have seen her. Tssk! Im just waiting for the Peaches Geldof range to come out!!

HOT FASHION- SUMMER '07!

Yes, it is that time again. Birds are warbling from thier nests and small animals are coming out of hibernation. The grass is greener, and the sun hotter. I must say i am in my element. Not that i hate winter, but as i have said before i despise having to layer up for the colder months. Anyway, back to the matter at hand. Summer. A whole new wardrobe is required and whole new trends are discovered. Here is my personal look book for summer.

Hot List Trend 01 - Surfer Girl.

Yes, so as a.. erm.. lets say 'intermidiate' surfer myself, its only natural that i just LOVE this trend. Its all about casual cool, and tons of charm necklaces stuffed under chic silky scarves. Teemed with a tiny thigh skimmer skirt or hotpants and bag big enough to hold your kitchen sink, i think this look is going to be a big hit for summer. Im already obsessing over this 'Im with the band' top from Paul Smith [Picture 2]

But, if alike me you are a little out of pocket, try topshops scarves for a tenner over a plain vest. Join the surf crew!

Trend 02- House of Holland tee's.

You have to be very unfashionable or just plain out of your mind to not lust over a House of Holland t-shirt. They put the F on Fashion, the S on style. Ok you get it. These tops are big news and ive found a trillion high street alternatives. River Island has a 'Everyone needs to be loved' top which i need. [pictured below is a House of Holland Tee!]

Trend 03- Towering Heels.

Its the cousin of last summers wedges, the Mega-heel!! EVERYONE has these which kind of makes me want to rebel, but i do love these so they are worth talking about. But, sadly, i am weirdly tall for my age, so i think i will be forced to give these a miss anyways. But if you are under 5'6, please, give these a go. They tone your legs & bum and make you look effortlesly, tall, glam, and trendy. [Pictured below- Alberta Ferretti's take on mega heels.]

Trend 04- Glasses.

Reading ones- that is. Sexy, sultry and brainy- glasses have it all. Im so glad a celebrity has finally started advertising them, as i wear them and i get called a 'bof' just for putting them on. So thankyou SO much Kimberly Stewart, to you i am eternally grateful.

Trend 05- Tousled hair.

Because super maintenance is SO last year. Just dampen, twist into a bun and leave to dry. Instant perfection in half an hour.

Okay, so this one isn't for the faint hearted, but i j'adore it! Canary yellow is my new best friend, and it shows off a golden tan to perfection. Loves it.

These are mega cute. A little school-girl pair of socks gone stylish, knee high socks are making a BIG comeback. They have been deemed the next leggings and the new footless tights. I suggest you snap yours up before they're all gone!!

A Normal Person? Sienna? You MUST Be Joking..

DEFINITION. Celebrity: A. 1. Super cool, confident, and must i say perfect person with an endless amount of money and a crowd of fans to worship her?

Apparently not. Refreshingly, this statement is occasionally false in referral to some super beings. Well, that perfect bit anyways.

For my new found idol and stylish Actress Sienna Miller has confessed to Touch magazine the following:

"My cellulite wouldn't look very good in a bikini. Let's face it, my so-called fabulous shape is the result of very clever airbrushing - I have small boobs and cellulite,". She added: "I'd rather be lumpy and heavy than skinny and miserable." I feel rather proud of her for being honest. Although, my mother always said not to believe what you read in magazines..

But if this statement is in fact true, good on Sienna! Finally a celeb has shown that celebrities are not completely perfect and has broken out of the stereotype of being better than everyone else. Thank god. But its not exactly promoting a natural image, and although this confession seems well intended, actually makes me feel worse about baring my own body in a bikini- not all of us can afford airbrushing you know!

But, in my opinion.. Sienna, darling, give up the airbrushing.. you look pretty darn good to me!

Do It Yourself Fashion

It was a lovley easter this year. I went round my cousins for dinner and me and my cousin, Em, (who very much like myself) has a passion for all things stylish, designed a bag each. These bags are from http://bakerross.com, and we decorated them with their fabric pens. I must say, i am rather pleased with the end product, and i designed it around the Uber chic House Of Holland tee's that so many shops are copying. 'Keep 'em keen Jellybean' was my chosen statement for the bag, and I think it looks rather hot :)

Then, later, still on my creative streak, i dug up some of my old white crops and turned them into a hot new trend, the roll up shorts. All it needed was rolling up and a few stitches along the sides to hold it in place. It just shows that you dont need money to get a whole new look! Below are my before and after pics. (please excuse my manky knees)

NEW TOPSHOP & KATE MOSS PICS Just before i update may i please apologise for the layout of this post- unsightly but at least the pics are up. If you can remember, i recentley posted on the Kate Moss range. And as soon as i did, out came these pictures. I must admit, i am a little let down by this array of outfits because their not exactly unique, but it does look like something Moss would wear. Get ready for the shop dash ladies!! Summers here- and out comes the folk trend. Last summer was a disaster to me. It was the whole gypsy-style look, and although this looked okay- it wasnt exactly me. For as any fashionista will tell you, you either show the legs or the breasts.. not both. And not exactly being among the buxom clan.. i felt a little put down. For one of last years hottest looks was the gypsy skirt. It was long, flowing, and showed no trace of leg. So instead, i paraded around in a full cover-it-all-up top and skirt which made me feel very un-feminine, and very un-sexy. But this year, it seems the world of fashion has spun in my favour. Its still the same folkish, gypsy-ish style, but this time in the version of micro minis. Everyone seems to be wearing this dress (left) and i must say, it looks rather dashing. Girls wore it over leggings, tights, jeans, or as it is summery at the moment, bare legged. And didnt they all look fantastic? To me showing of your boobs can look somewhat tarty, but it seems that this new trend looks classy, but still alluring to the male species. So follow my advice- get a folk style dress and be along the leggy this season.

At the moment, it has only been released in selected Anna Hindmarch stores, and there were cues for days for the new bag. 500 of these beauties were given out at london fashion week to VIP's and Celebs, and has been seen on the likes of Erin O'connor and models Robin K and Ben Grimes. They seem to be too good to be true, and they can be used as re-usable plastic bags and cool handbags & shoppers aswell. Well girls, want one? There going to be released in Sainsburys from April. Get down there!

Kate Moss For Topshop!

Once again, Topshop has come up trumps. With the exiting new Kate Moss range, everyone seemed to be in a frenzy when the new topshop podcast showed Kate designing and going for fittings for the new range. It was nice to have a step into the designers shoes, and of course getting a little peep into the new range. (Out May 1st!) You can check out the video on http://www.topshoppodcast.co.uk, but you must have itunes to access this feature. But believe me, its worth it! She has designed some lovely vintage style peices that look almost handmade, and i have my eye on this metalic gold jacket (sorry for the poor quality!) (picture courtesy to Topshop PodCasts), which with the volume and metallic, makes it bang on trend and will look gorgeous with a plain white vest top, quirky necklace and skinny jeans which can be played up or down for any occasion. Talking of nice clothes and TopShop, check out this jumper, for just £30 is a steal and keeps me up to date with the acid colour trend, without looking like a glow-stick. Well all that is left to say is.. get down to Topshop now.. before it all sells out!!

Peacocks Re-lives!

How gorgeous is the peacocks spring/summer collection? Extremely gorgeous thats how much. I absoloutely love thier new stuff, especially the black smock top & pink tights in this pic! (roughly £20 for the whole outfit) It used to be so tacky but i was so suprised when casually browsing through the shops in my local town.. I found that in a jam-packed peacocks there was some lovely peices for tiny prices. They covered many of the new trends from the catwalk and had some absoloutely amazing bags and jewellery that looked like it had been sent straight off chanel's shelves. I have my eye on the orange tunic (above) with the flowers on.. perfect for wearing with my new hotpants and tights!

Well.. let the rush to peacocks begin!

Dog-cessories

Its official- i am turning into Paris Hilton! Looking for a pair of earrings in New Look, when in the sale shelves were a showcase of gloriously cheap & cute collars for dogs. My own dog Gus, a jack Russel cross, wasn't exactly chihuahua status, but i couldn't resist the adorable pink leather and diamante clasp collar, which even on a male dog such as mine would look somewhat co-ordinated with my wardrobe full of pink clothing. Then, thinking about saving my poor dog from identity crisis, bought him a rather chav-tastic Gold Digger collar in the colour of the season, gold! I must confess, the little dog-booties were also rather cute, but knowing my dogs digging habits, would be scraps in a matter of seconds. Much to my delight, the collars also came with some de-tatchable charms that made it easy not only to customise my dogs collar, but also my charm bracelets. Then, at the check-out as the lady at the till told me they were all sold out and they were only producing them for bigger stores, i went on the hunt for the designer style doggy bling. Luckily, i found that accesorise stock a lovely range of dog clothes and accessories, for a higher price, but by the looks of it, at slightly better quality and design. Remember- you dont have to be a celebrity to stylise your dog!

I LOVE Stella Mcartney's Spring/Summer Collection

As i was having my usual ponder around Vogue.co.uk, i stumbled upon Stella Mcartneys new spring/summer collection. I was pleasantly suprised by the stylishness of the garments. Colours of green, cream and ocean blue splattered gorgeously short dresses. It is now official- Volume is a BIG trend now that every item was puffed along the bottom or at the sleeves, and mini-dresses, as no item stretched down past the mid-thigh. Another hot item of the show was the cool little all-in-one suits that look so chic with knee length socks and sassy heels. I also loved the little metallic dresses, and have hunted down my own copy from Oasis! But the item i want the most is the little volumous bikini.. May be rather hard to find though! So if anyone finds any, let me know!
