What does a recently broken computer + 6 essays to re-type equal? Very, very tired fingers. So im afraid dear bloggers that this is a quick one. More of a you-answer-me than a-me-talking-to-you post. For todays post, im thinking back to the post about Miss Amy Winehouse i did a month back,as she became the muse for Karl Lagerfeld @ Chanel. Since then, i have been thinking more into the who-is-who of celeb/stylist muses, and have compiled the finest.

DUFFY FOR DOLCE & GABBANA

Everyone knows Duffy is an amazing singer, but what you may not know is that she has also has amazing style, and is the new muse of D&G. Apparently she wowed the fashion gods at a concert and has been asked to take over the role from Madonna *scoff scoff*

KATIE SHILLINGFORD FOR GARETH PUGH If you had never heard of her before, dont worry, i hadn't either. Turns out she's the ex-editor of Dazed And Confused, and also stylist to Gareth Pugh's catwalks. He's worked with her for four years and 'couldn't think of anyone else but Katie' to be his muse. All i know is that she had one hell of a haircut, and that there isn't many pictures of her on the internet.

Best friends for a few years, the style duo even live together, and along with her quirky style, its no suprise she makes the 'perfect muse' for house of holland.

For anyone who has read my blog recently, [or for that matter just stumbled upon it] you will have pretty much gathered that i am not a big fan of designer/celebrity collaborations. I believe that the designers should stick to the high end, and the high street, well, to the high street!So when i read about print-based label Marimekko's collision with high street giant [and personal favourite] shop h&m, i couldn't help but to be optimistic. And later, when an opening email from the shop itself landed in my inbox, i was pleasantly suprised by the delightful illustrations created for the line.

But, later when i had purchased my monthly style bible, Vogue, i read the mini mag [did anyone catch it? i do love my mini-mags] which was in association with h&m and was presented with images from the new collaboration. I was startled by the intensity of the prints clashed together with the heavy jewels and a menagerie of paint-like makeup. It was all very unusual and 'editorial' and seemed rather dissapointing [even though the pictures were striking, and beautiful.], and looked unwearable. [Sorry for the bad quality- yet again scanners' acting up.]

However, after checking the website for more details, i can ensure you that the collaboration is not as bad as i have described it. The pretty smock dresses and tunic tops are all very 60's and overall, very pleasing. I would certainly wear some of the items, which consist of the prints "Keidas (art nouveau swirl), Linssi (diagonal swirl), Petrooli (red rimmed red spot) and Jonas, (a black spider-like swirl)".

My favourite peice is probably the shift dresses which [if you look on the website] come in a variety of gorgeous prints from Marimekko. Its altogether a nice line, daring, yet simple for everyday wear.

Note: Agh. Why am i making this remark? Because my computer crashed with a virus last week so I haven't been able to post. Also, all my coursework was lost except the few peices i had saved at school. I am NOT a happy bunny. Im guessing this post is a little late [try a week late] but i am sorry, and i promise i will return to regular posting.

Agh. The shop that were 'fixing' my camera have declared that it cannot be fixed. So now i have the task of saving for a new one. So hopefully i will have a camera soon.

But from one person-behind-the-camera to another, i present you my second fashion mini-biography on the topic of: legendary photograper Patrick Demarchelier.

Info bit:

The french photographer was born in 1994 and since then has become a major name in the photography industry. He has shot dozens of editorials for American, British and Paris Vogue. He has also shot covers for Rolling Stone, Glamour, and Elle. Also, he has shot campaigns for Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein. He was also mentioned in Devil Wears Prada [hence the title...].

Recently, he shot 'the sheltering sky' for British Vogue with model Jessica Stam, showcasing this seasons prettiest fashions.

Im sorry this is a bit hurried, but i have the dreaded return to school tomorrow, so i'm very busy [but i hope these gorgeous pictures make up for it!] Thankyou all for your lovely comments, and i'll reply as soon as i can!

Just one week ago in England, it was snowing. This could seem a suprise to anyone that hasn't visited the land of unpredictable weather before, but to a local, this could seem quite normal.

The fact is, only a week later its flipping boiling! [Well, its 17 degrees, but thats scorching for easter] The birds are singing, the grass is green, and the sea blue sky is scattered with puffy white clouds. Which is all very well, but with no time to prepare outfits for the sudden dawning of summer, its left me quite bemused. And so, it's got me thinking of a new summer wardrobe [if only i had the money...] and therefore my summer footwear of choice, the sandal. Never before have i worn a sndal, as i tend to prefer a pretty ballerina pump, or a simple flip-flop. But no, the time has come, and logging onto ASOS, i've come over all inspired. For inside this beacon of online fashion, is a pair [and more] of sandals for every occasion...

Im definately buying the lace up work/office pair.

NOTE: Untill my camera is fixed [2-3 weeks] i will be posting more of these meaningless posts. So bare with me!

There are parts of fashion that everyone hates. My Dad hates wedge heels and anything baggy or 'vintage'. My Mum hates anything made out of PVC. My 5 year old sister detests wearing the colour green. And My Brother doesn't know the foggiest about fashion, so we just won't go there.

As for me? I hate[d] jumpsuits.

Why i hear you ask? That's a good question. The jumpsuit has been a part of my life for as long as i can remember. For the first couple of years of my life i wore them. My uncle, and close family friend [who are both builders] wore them, and still do to this day. Perhaps it was a jumpsuit overload that has triggered my hatred for the one piece suit, or perhaps it was the imaginable difficulty of taking them off/ putting them back on for toilet trips.

I don't know what it was, but what i do know is that i feel i am being converted. To anyone that read yesterdays post, you'll see i evaluated danish brand eluise which featured not one, but two jumpsuits. And whats more- i loved them. They're slouchy, look comfortable and come in a variety of shapes, sizes and colours.

And with all the hype around them for S/S, i feel that perhaps i am ready to embrace this trend. [Which i am annoyed about because i was so adamant i hated them!] So you can imagine my supreme excitement when i saw that GAP UK has produced a jumpsuit similar to the one i mentioned in a previous post from Stella McCartney- and for £510.50 less!:

So what do you guys think? Should i buy it? It is growing on me... and at £39.50 its cheap.. enough..?

Technically, I'm an eighth danish. [My grandad's mum is danish] But i spend most of my holidays there so that must count for something right?

Well, I'd love to be because every time i visit Denmark [in particular Copenhagen], the cities are literally packed with well dressed ladies, all clad in high end fashion. I think with all of the hype based around Paris/Milan/London/New York, other style meccas go unnoticed, and Denmark would definitely qualify.

So, you can imagine my excitement i came across danish brand ELUISE. Not just because its a danish brand, but also because it's got that simple, yet baggy style that i dearly love. According to the S/S 08 text the line is:

"it's inspired by travel, movement and time. the silhouettes and drapings are influenced by designer louise stubkjear's ability to work in a simple way with the natural shapes of the material combined with a classical expression"

And even though i can't really see the link between time, it is clear that the draping silhouettes of the white jumpsuit, and the playful beach romper are definitely reminiscent of the 1980's [and earlier's] jetsetters.

When i take on of my 40 yearly trips to denmark, i will try to visit the store and post some pictures up. [i MAY be going to the end of April, but these trips can be very unpredictable!]

As i've said before [1stb'daypost] i never really pay attention to the beautiful catwalk people. [However, according to many designers, models are not meant to make any expression at all in thier faces so that people notice the clothes not them. (Unless your Stella M. and have the great revelation to let models smile.) So maybe i'm just playing into the designer's hands] Although, even if i did notice faces, im hopeless with names so i probably wouldnt remember any, especially not long exotic names that most seem to have these days. But, as my fashion knowledge is growing [slowly...] i decided to provide you [and me] with a model referance of a few new faces of the fashion world and some pictures and other bits i can find out about them.

Siri Tollerod

Signed since 16 Siri decided to finish college first [beauty and brains!] and so started modelling as a career in summer 2007. [something i'm sure most girls would like to do.]

Since being signed, shes starred in an extroadinary 60 shows this season alone, many with major fashion houses such as dior, mcqueen [lucky girl...], Feretti, Prada and Louis Vuitton. She also has starred in ads for Pepe, DKNY and more, and in magazines such as Vogue UK, Italy, and Paris and Lula. She's gorgeous but is mostly known for her 'pout' and long legs.

Masha has been dubbed 'the alien beauty' with her enourmous eyes [which make her come across with a mixture of scared/shocked expression at times] However, she is an alternate beauty and someone i'm sure even I would be unlikely to forget.

She's been featured in Italy Vogue along with Agyness Deyn, and has been seen on the catwalk for Prada, Alexander McQueen, Louis Vuitton, Nina Ricci, DKNY, Vera Wang, Jil Sander, Chloé, and Marc by Marc Jacobs. Out of all the models i've reviewed- she's the main lady to watch.

Age: 17

Hometown: Germany

Agency: Storm [probably THE best agency in the universe]

Toni signed with woman managment in 2007, and later signed to the prestigious STORM agency. She has been featured in numerous ads and editorials, such as ELLE & ELLE italy, Glamour, French Vogue, and CK.

Her big break into the modelling world is when Calvin Klein exclusivley booked her for the opening and finishing act of his 2008 show, which is a HUGE deal as supermodels Moss & Vodianova both became 'super' following being a CK exclusive. Big things must follow, and i'm going to be watching.

Newcoming models are suprisingly hard to find, but i'll keep searching, and if i find any more i'll let you know.

Mum: 'you'll never guess who just walked into Reiss [clothes store, Cambridge]. AMY WINEHOUSE!'

Im not much of a celebrity fan. I suppose its because I've never come into contact with many before. But when i walked into Reiss to see a petite beehive clad Amy Winehouse, i'll admit i was thrilled. She was wearing a tight pair of skinny jeans and high top trainers and was accompanied by a bodyguard. This was before her whole drug-use trauma, and seemed perfectly happy browsing the rails.

Peronally, i've never really liked her style that much. Her baggy jeans, trainers and tattoos are all a bit manly for my liking. I'll admit she does have talent and i am very pleased she is back from rehab and is on the mend. But really, shes not my cup of tea style-wise.

However, she has been influenced and been linked to the fashion world very strongly this season. She is known as Karl LAgerfeld's muse and inspired many catwalk beauty looks with her winged eyes and bouffant hair. She performed at Fendi's store opening and at many of the major music events.

And when Paris Vogue did a fashion spread inspired by her in the Febuary issue, i'm going to have to bite the bullet and admit that i loved it. The model [Isabelli Fontana] captured Amy's often bizzare behaviour well, and the shoot really reflects her personality and dress sense.
