Sitting and trying to concentrate on my ICT coursework, i [miraculously] am finding myself pondering over fashion matters. And todays main subject is the new Giles Deacon range for New Look. I must admit i have never REALLY been a fan of celeb/designers collaborations as they're often not so much the designers style, but more the store's style. Basically they are always disapointing, and only result in shopping stampedes within the high street. So, when i read about Giles deacon's FOURTH collection for New Look, i was horrified.
For anyone that is British, i think you can agree that New Look isn't exactly a beacon of style. And for anyone out of Britain, it's THE only store that happens to sell the most unpleasant version of trends ever. Luckily, there were copies of Look magazine that showed the collection in its full glory [not]. I must admit is IS more impressive than his last bizzare collection, and i probably could stretch to buyin the candy coloured glasses, and perhaps even the pink folded dress, but nothing else is really that exciting. At least it's modelled by the always-fabulous Agyness.. :)

I too find it rather strange these collections are still going.
they must be selling well, but new look always seemed an odd choice of store to collaborate with Giles Deacon; the average shopper doesn't seem very representative of the Deacon Ideal.
since i have been to britain and have (unfortunately haha) been in New Look, I can attest to the fact that's beyond tacky and cheap, but surprisingly that doesn't look half bad

i have to agree with you on the collection though ... its not great, but its not bad either.
Ha ha, yes new look isn't exactly a beacon of style! Their accessories can be alright - ish from time to time though! Cannot believe it's his fourth collection. It looks ok, not exactly earth shattering. And it does help to have dear agness modelling.

you know what? When I was in London, I was there for maybe 4 months, and I haven't the faintest recollection of New Look. I do remember being impressed by george at asda though.
Agree with you, I don't think much of Giles's efforts with New Look, however I do think this collection is a wee bit more fashionable than the first three...for what that's worth.
